Our Process
Phase 1

Design & Pricing

Work closely with Stillwater’s architects and project team to shape a home that fits your site, budget, and vision, informed by a detailed site visit and zoning analysis. Concept designs, specifications, and transparent pricing bring your home clearly into focus.

Phase 2

Engineering & Permitting

With your Home Purchase Agreement in place, final architectural, engineering, and permitting work begins to transform the design into build-ready documents. Stillwater coordinates with local agencies and your contractor to finalize pricing and approvals.

Phase 3

Fabrication & Delivery

Your home enters production in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility while site work begins, including the foundation, utilities, and access. Precision-built components are then delivered and assembled on-site, bringing your Stillwater home to life.

Answers to your questions every step of the way.

Prefab and modular construction are closely related, but Stillwater uses a more flexible prefab approach. While some modular homes are built in rigid box-like sections, Stillwater’s prefab homes use panelized and modular components that allow for greater architectural freedom, custom layouts, and more refined design details.

No. In fact, Stillwater’s prefab and modular building methods typically result in higher quality than traditional site-built homes. Factory-controlled construction allows for tighter tolerances, better material protection, and more consistent workmanship.

Stillwater builds custom prefab and modular homes across much of the United States, including coastal, mountain, desert, and urban sites. Our systems-built approach is especially well suited for remote or challenging locations.

Prefab and modular construction typically reduces build time compared to traditional construction. While each home is different, Stillwater homes are often completed faster and with more predictable timelines than site-built homes.
